The good people of West Virginia have been rained on and reigned over, but we’ve never been reined in.

Some members of the West Virginia legislature want to deny women the right to make their own reproductive decisions, as well as their equal rights. The super majority wants to take away parents’ rights. They want to dictate what kids can learn in schools. They want to deny your personal freedom to identify as who you are. They want to mandate how you wear your hair. They want to tell you who you are allowed to love. In my opinion, if you aren’t open carrying a gun, a Bible, and a hunk of coal while wearing an “I’m Straight” t-shirt, the super majority doesn’t want you to have any rights at all. I’ve spent years making jokes and poking fun at our House and Senate. By and large, the supermajority in our state government is an embarrassment. So, you know what they say: If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

I will be there, if nothing else, to show that there are people in West Virginia who think that the job of the government is making schools better, fixing the prison system, funding children’s services and funding child care, demanding drinkable water, providing food and services for the elderly and the hungry, insisting on miner safety, fighting black lung, and ensuring that all citizens- including people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community - feel safe and free in West Virginia.
  • Women should have reproductive freedom
  • Members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as all minority groups should feel safe and have equal rights
  • Miner safety, clean water, better children's' services, more child care, clean drinking water for everybody, and better infrastructure - from roads to broadband - should be the priorities to the WV state government, instead of banning books and fighting inane culture wars
Women's reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, minority rights, better infrastructure, clean water, higher pay for teachers and school workers, black lung reduction and aid, and generally the betterment of the people of west Virginia
I was a paperboy for several years as a young teen.
A bill enshrining women's reproductive rights, and a bill ensuring equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community.
