Bill Brandt (Republican Party) is a judge for Precinct 3 of the Tarrant County Justice of the Peace Courts in Texas. He assumed office on January 1, 2019. His current term ends on December 31, 2026.

Brandt (Republican Party) won re-election for the Precinct 3 judge of the Tarrant County Justice of the Peace Courts in Texas outright after the general election on November 8, 2022, was canceled.

Biography

Bill Brandt graduated from Grapevine High School in 1973. Brandt served in the U.S. Air Force from 1977 to 2007 and reached the rank of Colonel. He earned a B.S. in general engineering and history from the United States Air Force Academy in 1977, an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix in 1999, and a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law. Brandt’s career experience includes working as a line check airman with FexEx and as an attorney at his own practice, Brandt Legal Services PLLC. He volunteers as the chairman of the board of trustees at the Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy, which describes its goal as to, “provide strategic leadership for Lutheran classical pre-school through 8th grade.”[1][2]

Selection method

The members of the Texas Justice of the Peace Courts are elected in partisan elections and serve four-year terms. They are elected in a precinct-wide election.[3]

To serve as a justice of the peace, justices must complete a 40-hour course on relevant duties within one year of his or her election. They must also complete a similar 20-hour course each year they continue to serve.[4]
