Bill Cimbrelo (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Massachusetts' 9th Congressional District. He lost in the Democratic primary on September 4, 2018.

Cimbrelo was a 2012 independent candidate who sought election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts. Cimbrelo was defeated by Elizabeth Warren (D) on November 6, 2012.[1]

Cimbrelo was born in Argentina but moved to the States when he was 5 years old. He is a naturalized citizen. Upon graduation from Arlington High in 1975, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. As a chemist and businessman, he has worked in the area of water purification, trouble-shooting, and engineering systems for commercial installations. He also owned a home improvement business.[2]

Cimbrelo stated the following about his political philosophy in a biographical submission to Ballotpedia:[3]

Bill Cimbrelo is a nearly lifelong Massachusetts resident, having immigrated to the United States with his parents at the age of 6 from his native Argentina. He is bilingual and holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. For many years he worked as a chemist to solve water purification problems and developing engineering systems.

More recently he has turned a passion for home renovation into a thriving business. Bill Cimbrelo would be considered a Progressive and supported Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Democratic Primary. He is running for Congress in Massachusetts' 9th Congressional District.[4]
