Bill Dodd (Democratic Party) was a member of the California State Senate, representing District 3. He assumed office in 2016. He left office on December 2, 2024.

Dodd (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the California State Senate to represent District 3. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.

Biography

Bill Dodd was born in Napa County, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business management from California State University, Chico, in 1978. Dodd’s career experience includes working as a small business owner with Culligan Water operations in California, where he served as the president of the water quality industry's state and national trade associations. He was awarded Citizen of the Year in 2014 by the Nappa Valley Chamber of Commerce.[1]

Elections for the California State Senate took place in 2016. The primary election was held on June 7, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was February 25, 2016, for candidates filing with signatures. The deadline for candidates using a filing fee to qualify was March 11, 2016.[2] Incumbent Lois Wolk (D) did not seek re-election.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Bill Dodd (D) and Charlie Schaupp (R) defeated Joe Krovoza (D), Dan Wolk (D) and Dustin Call (R) in the blanket primary. Dodd defeated Schaupp in the general election.[7][8][9]
