Bill Fraser was a 2016 independent candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 8th Congressional District of Illinois.[1] Fraser did not make it onto the general election ballot.

Fraser graduated from Hoffman Estates High School in 1997. He earned a B.A. in biology from Illinois State University in 2001 and a masters in teaching from National Louis University in 2006. Since 2005 Fraser has been teaching at Schaumburg High School in Schaumburg, IL.[2][3]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. The seat was open following incumbent Tammy Duckworth's U.S. Senate run. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D) defeated Pete DiCianni (R) and write-in candidate Andrew Straw in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Krishnamoorthi defeated Michael Noland and Deb Bullwinkel in the Democratic primary on March 15, 2016. DiCianni defeated write-in candidate Andrew Straw in the Republican primary.[4][5]

The power of decision should be in the hands of the people, not in the hands of a politician. I am running to create a successful constituent voting operation on all bills that involve significant taxes and laws. The people of the 8th Congressional District can be the first in the nation to elect a candidate that will tie his own hands and relinquish decision making power back to the constituency.
