Earl needed to gather gather 35 valid signatures in order to force a recall election. Following the certification of signatures, the targeted official has five days to resign. If no resignation occurs, an election must be called for 30 to 40 days from that date.[1]

As of July 30, Earl still did not file an official recall petition.[1]
