I am a Christian Conservative that believes that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and that the enumerated rights contained within the Constitution are unalienable. I believe that our Constitutional Republic should be of, for and by the people with smaller government and less intrusion. As a veteran and a retired law enforcement officer I believe that the oaths taken before God never expire and I will always work to ensure that the rights of the people are not abridged. Our message is simple: conservatism works to help all the people of our great State and contributes to the wealth and prosperity for each and every citizen.
  • I have worked diligently to fight inflation by reducing personal income taxes by 40%. I have supported and voted for regulatory reform to reduce the unnecessary burdens on the citizens and restict big government. I have worked collaboratively with other legislators to ensure that your tax dollars are spent wisely and that the needs of our often overlooked District are met.
  • I have worked to ensure that voter integrity is in place by passing a Voter ID law to ensure that only citizens that are eligible to vote may exercise that right. I assisted in passing a law that placed stringent requirements on the NC State Board of Elections to clean up the voter rolls and remove duplicate registrations as well as any deceased individuals.
  • I have worked collaboratively within the legislature to combat illegal immigration by passing laws that require the sheriff's of North Carolina to cooperate with Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) in identifying and removing those criminal illegal aliens. i helped pass laws that restrict the purchasing of lands within North Carolina by adversarial govenments and protect our military installations.
It is my goal to ensure that the citizens of District 5 recieve the necessary support to upgrade the local infrastructure and have access to the best education resources available so as to attract businesses that will bring economic prosperity. To ensure that medical and mental health resources are available to all of our citizens that are in need.
Elected officials should have a strong set of morals. They must be willing to stand for their constituents and work to pass legislation that is good for all of the citizens without self interests. It is imperative that they be available to the constituents and provide the services that are necessary. They must be fair and transparent in their actions and deal truthfully with all aspects of their office.
That I represented the people that elected me well and that I had their best interests at heart That I was diligent in performing my duties and was available to them to assist in meeting their needs.
Southern States Police Benevolent Association, NC Values, NC State Optometric Society, Old North State PAC, Grass Roots NC, NC Build PAC, Human Coalition, Coca Cola PAC, Rural Electric Action Program, NC Home Builders Association.
I currently serve on the following committees: Appropriations, Appropriations: General Government, Election Law and Campaign Finance Reform, Judiciary 3, State Personnel, State Government and the Joint Legislative Elections Oversight Committee.
As a Constitutionalist, I believe that the government is accountable to the citizens in all of their actions. The citizens, through their taxes, fund the operation of the government and the people deserve to know how their money is being spent.

I am a military veteran and a retired law enforcement officer. My adult life has been dedicated to the service of our country, state and citizens I have filled many leadership positions during both my military service and my law enforcement career, and have worked closely with the many entities to promote programs to improve the lives of our constituents. As a lifelong Christian conservative I have found it to be incumbent upon me to be respectful many varied opinions and concerns without sacrificing my morals and principles. My servant's heart has inspired me to seek this office so as to continue to serve the citizens of NC House District 5.
  • Education is one of the major areas that we must focus upon. Testing shows that as a nation we lag behind most developed nations. Emphasis must be placed upon returning to academics as opposed to social experiments and indoctrination. Parents must be included in the narrative in determining what their children are taught and in determining what direction their children are lead whether it be public schools, charter schools or private schools.
  • Public safety is an area that we must also focus upon. Over the past two years, we have watched as anarchist have burned and destroyed our cities calling for defunding of police, bail reform and court reform. We must ensure that all of our public safety entities, police, fire and emergency medical, are funded at an appropriate level to provide the safety that is required. We must move away from bond reform that allows criminals to be released back into our communities only to offend again and court reform to ensure that criminals are appropriately punished.
  • Election integrity is a major concern. We must ensure that only citizens are allowed to vote in our elections. Voter I.D. and signature verification must be implemented to ensure that outside interference does not occur.
We must return to the founding principles of our Constitutional Republic. Term limits will ensure that we have citizen legislators as opposed to career politicians. We must push for fiscal responsibility and smaller government with less intrusion into the lives of our citizens. We must ensure that our children have the best access to education that is free from social experiments and indoctrination and allow parents to have an active part in determining the future of those children. We must ensure that our elections are free and fair and that the electoral process is available to only our citizens through voter I.D. and signature verification on ballots without interference from outside entities.
President Ronald Reagan. He was a conservative that united the country, led us out of world submission and actively led in the downfall of communism.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in North Carolina

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
