An effort to recall William "Bill" Wilson from his position on the Fremont Union High School District board of trustees in California did not go to a vote in 2021. Recall supporters did not submit signatures by the deadline.[1] Recall supporters would have had to submit 11,730 signatures from residents of the school district by September 27, 2021, to get the recall on the ballot.[2]

Recall supporters said the district was too slow to reopen schools to in-person instruction after the number of COVID-19 cases began to ebb in the county.[3]

Wilson first joined the board in 2006. He was re-elected in an at-large election for three seats on November 6, 2018.
