Billy Gene Collins
Billy Gene Collins was a 2014 Green candidate for District 38 of the Connecticut House of Representatives.
Biography
After graduating from high school, Collins served in the United States Navy for four years. He worked as an electronics technician aboard the USS Boston.[1]
Collins earned his B.S. in education from Emporia State University in 1961. He went on to earn a master's degree in teaching from Indiana University in 1965 and a master's degree in english from Kansas State University in 1968. Collins then earned a Ph.D. in American literation from Kansas State University in 1970.[1]
Professionally, Collins works as a high school teacher as well as a college professor.[1]

Collins submitted the following statement to Ballotpedia:[1]

Elections
2014
Elections for the Connecticut House of Representatives consisted of a primary election on August 12, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Marc Balestracci was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Kathleen M. McCarty was unopposed in the Republican primary. McCarty defeated Balestracci and Billy Gene Collins (G) in the general election.[3][4]
