Your core responsibility as an elected official is to remember that the people/voters in your district are your BOSSES, you answer to them. You are a public servant first and foremost.
Willie Nelson - Energy Follows Thought
It is extremely beneficial to build relationships with other legislators. As a State House member, you are 1 of 163 representatives, so by yourself, you will not be able to get anything accomplished without good solid relationships with other legislators. Building these relationships is an integral part of being able to represent your district.
Agriculture Committee, Veterans Committee, WorkForce Development Committee, Rural Community Development Committee, Judiciary Committee
As Executive Director of the Harrisonville Chamber of Commerce during the Pandemic, I kept the chamber doors open for my small business members. I helped several local businesses to determine if their business was "essential", and I believe ALL BUSINESSES ARE ESSENTIAL! I helped small businesses apply for PPP and EIDL Loans to keep them in business. I held the only Personal Protective Equipment drive in Cass County and then took all the donations to local nursing homes. I am on the front lines fighting for Missouri Citizens.
