Birdie Hairston Jamison
Birdie Hairston Jamison is a former district court judge for the 13th Judicial District in Virginia.[1] She was first appointed to the bench in 1991 and served until her retirement on December 1, 2015. Jamison was the longest-serving traffic judge in Virginiaat the time of her retirement.[2]
In January 2015, the Virginia State Legislature did not appoint Jamison to a new six-year term. State Rep. Manoli Loupassi (R) cited poor evaluations on the Commonwealth's Judicial Evaluation for the legislature's decision not to reappoint Jamison. Jamison told NBC 12 that she believed the evaluation process was biased and that her history of rejecting plea deals in drunk driving cases influenced legislators. Jacqueline S. McClenney was selected by the legislature to replace Jamison on December 1, 2015.[3]
Education
Jamison received both her undergraduate degree and J.D. from the College of William and Mary.[4]
