Bishop Measure P was on the ballot as a referral in Bishop on November 3, 2020. It was approved.

A “yes” vote supported authorizing an additional sales tax of 1% with revenue going to the city's general fund, thereby increasing the total sales tax rate in Bishop from 7.75% to 8.75%.

A “no” vote opposed authorizing an additional sales tax of 1% with funds going to the city's general fund, thereby leaving the existing total sales tax rate in Bishop at 7.75%.


A simple majority was required for the approval of Measure P.

The ballot title for Measure P was as follows:

To provide the City of Bishop with funding to maintain essential services such as police, fire, street maintenance, and parks and recreation, shall an ordinance creating a one-cent transactions (sales) and use tax be adopted, providing approximately $1.8 million annually until repealed by voters, with all funds locally controlled and independently audited?
