I am 31, working as a Senior Project Coordinator for SMART Solutions consulting at MG&E, and I live in the Emerson East Neighborhood. I use he/him pronouns, am Hispanic of Honduran and Mexican descent, am married to a badger, and I was proudly born in Madison, Wisconsin.
  • My highest priority is transparency. It is the foundation of all the policies and initiatives I look to advocate for. The role of an alder on the Madison Common Council is to be the elected representative of the district, to champion their questions and needs to committees, city departments, the common council, and the mayor. Alders should be available to answer questions not only on the common council’s agendas but also on the city’s actions taken at the departmental level. Alders should be transparent on votes taken, questions raised, and policies sponsored.
  • I look to ensure the public safety initiatives that the people of District 12 ask for time and time again: body-worn cameras, police accountability, and curtailing the drug epidemic. I also want to ensure more accessible and equitable public transportation in the form of bus lines and better bicycle access to city roads.
  • I want to ensure that affordable housing increases in availability and accessibility, as well as making homeownership affordable. It is important for the people of Madison to be able to build equity in their home and be resilient in times of economic hardship. A homeowner builds financial stability over time, but a renter does not receive the economic benefits that only come from owning property. City policy should always seek to improve the economic mobility of its residents.

It is the most important of holding an elected office. I plan to continue to attend all neighborhood association meetings, and answers all communication I receive from the people of Madison.

Madison must not save a penny on infrastructure today, because it will cost us dollars in the future, and our children's fortunes.
Affordable housing and affordable home ownership are the greatest issues facing District 12. We have perpetual renters who cannot afford the next rent hike and have built no wealth. The people of Madison deserve the opportunity to purchase a home to build economic resilience and create intergenerational wealth.
I truly look up to the politicians that came before my time, had some of measure of a success but weren't lauded in their time. A living example is Bernie Sanders who fought against injustice and inequity his entire life and now gets to watch the next generation rise up to meet the same battle with renewed vigor.
