My name is Blake King. My family and I have lived in South Gilbert for over 10 years. 21 years ago, I moved to the east valley from Minnesota to pursue a career in law enforcement. My beautiful wife and I are raising 5 girls who keep us very busy.

In December of 2023, I successfully completed my 20th year of being a certified police officer. I currently am still employed with the Pinal County Sheriffs Office and am blessed to have the support of my boss, Sheriff Mark Lamb. For the last 10 plus years, I have been at the Lieutenant rank where I have commanded numerous units or regions to include all of San Tan Valley and its 60 plus Deputies. I have been incident commander of large-scale events like Country Thunder and Warrior Dash. I have my baccalaureate degree from the University of St. Cloud and my Masters in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. I was honored to be selected to attend the FBINNA leadership academy in Quantico, VA, where I was able to learn and network with 250 other Police leaders from around the world. Only 1 percent of law enforcement leaders are selected to attend this schooling.

In my free time (if I get any), I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, and most of all, fishing. I credit all my success to my amazingly strong wife and my faith in God.
  • Judges should be unbiased in their judgments. I will, as I have for the past 20 years, treat everyone with dignity, respect, and fairness. I sworn an oath to uphold the constitution, and I take that very seriously. All humans deserve to be treated the same regardless of their background, ethnicity, and gender.
  • With my first key message in mind, judges need to hold people accountable for their actions. We are seeing far to many judges make terrible decisions because they lack the backbone to hold people accountable. We are a society based on faith and the rule of law. With out the rule of law we will fail.
  • I work for you. We have an ongoing problem with current JP judges abusing and overspending the budget for pro tempor judges. These elected JPs are only working 2 or 3 days a week, while they use tax payer money to pay for fill judges. I will work, I will be a good steward of your money and I will represent the ethics and values I have developed over the course of my life and career.
I believe in holding people accountable while using the moral ethics and values I have developed over the course of my career.
I believe in America first in almost every category. The best way we can help others from every corner of the world is by first making ourselves strong. Our strengths come from a society of people who believe in helping others. But we have lost that edge in the past 20 years. We have lost God in our lives, which has, in turn, affected every aspect of society. We are a nation that needs healing and needs to come together to show strength in all areas.
Morals, ethics, and values. In order to hold an office like Justice of the Peace, a person must be honest and full of integrity. Without these characteristics, a person can not be trusted. Without trust, an elected official loses all credibility.
Second to those characteristics, a person elected to this office must be accountable and competent. I have the life experience and career that lets you know I will be successful as your Justice of the Peace.
Overseeing the day to day responsibilities of the court. Holding the JP employees accountable while at the same time being a solid leader for them by getting them the training and help they need to accomplish their mission. Holding court, being fair and being present to handle all the duties of this office.
I believe the number one legacy a person can leave is their children and how they contribute to society. I work hard to teach my family how to be good people while at the same time avoiding society's pitfalls. They are my legacy, and I want people to be able to say Blake King did well without reference to wealth or objects I posses but in regards to how my children turn out and what they contribute to the overall development of our society. They are the future.
Most people don't understand that the JP court is available for their smaller court needs. You don't need to be a lawyer to successfully fight for what is right. This is THE PEOPLES COURT!
Fair, balanced, and non-political. I will judge cases based on what the LAW says and how I interpret it. Where I have discretion, I will always put to use my ethics norms and values while being as fair as possible.
Retired San Tan JP Judge Sam Goodman is an incredible person who has had an incredible 30-year judicial career where he has not budged on his values and equal treatment according to what the law says. I am honored that Sam has publicly ENDORSED ME to be his replacement in the San Tan Justice Court.
I believe it is absolutely important for a judge to be empathetic. However, I believe emotions should not play a factor in deciding if a law has been broken. Empathy should be reserved for how to handle the situation. A judge should be able to read the situation and be able to provide meaning penance while keeping in mind what drives people to success with regards to getting their lives back on track.
This is the only political position I am cut out for. I can simply not be a typical politician because I refuse to sugarcoat, lie, or misrepresent anything. This position is an important part of society as it handles 90 percent of the court cases that affect our local communities. My family, my 5 girls, have to grow up in this community, so I have a vested interest in keeping it safe and holding those who violate our rules and laws accountable.
Yes. I believe the elected judge should have a solid understanding of government and, most importantly, the CONSTITUTION. The constitution should be the bedrock of any judges' decisions.
My number 1 concern is that judges and prosecutors across the country are being politically motivated. Lady justice is blind and the lawyers are out of line in regards to the "Lawfare" we are seeing. I am NOT a lawyer.
Getting our elections squared away. Whether you believe they were fair or not, there has been little effort to change or even just challenge the system itself. We can tell if and where the powerball was won within an hour, yet we have to wait for weeks to count Maricopa County? The legal system should be vetting out appropriate changes that the recorders' office should have in place to ensure faith in the process. We currently do not have that faith.
I do not. I've been solving everyday people's problems for 20 years as a police officer, and I want to continue helping my community in this capacity.
The financial transparency of any government position, should not only be available it should be presented by the elected officials. I will bring stats and budget transparency to the LD meetings so people can hear directly from me.
