Bloomberg to veto sick day bill
March 29, 2013
By Megan Busse
NEW YORK CITY,New York:Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that he will veto a new compromise that will make most businesses pay their employees for sick days.[1] The bill would require businesses with 20 or more employees to offer the paid sick days and 15 or more employees the following year. Bloomberg does not support the bill because he is considered about the economic impact on small businesses. The City Council can override the veto if they have enough support.[1]
