An effort in Somerset, Wisconsin, to recall Trustees Bartt Palmer, Ken Putz, and James Chandler was initiated in September 2019. Recall organizers gathered enough signatures to put the recall elections on the ballot. Palmer, Putz, and Chandler were defeated in recall elections held on January 7, 2020.[1][2]
Recall supporters
The recall effort was organized by a group called We Are Somerset in response to a vote in August 2019 by the village board to restrict tubers on the Apple River from exiting the river at Village Park. The owners of two tubing businesses in the town expressed concerns that the ordinance would negatively impact their business.[1][2]
