I'm even keeled, passionate about serving and committed to putting people over party, politics and money.

Serving the people of the district first, being available and accountable to voters.

Better education funding, sponsored bills relating to ethics reform and First Amendment protections.

Nixon resigning. I was 5.

Blue Highways. I love travel and the story of places visited.

My wife.

What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?

Education funding and health care

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature?

Checks and balances.

Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.

Yes, and not just legislators of the same party. We need to work together to get things done.

What process do you favor for redistricting?

A non-partisan method that preserves the integrity of neighborhoods.

If you are not a current legislator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?

Education. Transportation.

Is there a particular legislator, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?

John Danforth. Thomas Eagleton.

Both sitting legislators and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?

One of my potential constituents shared the story of her two daughters who have special needs and the challenges her family has faced. If some of the proposed changes to heath care are made, one of her daughters will likely die.
