2014

Fincher's website highlighted the following themes:[1]

I will support term limits for the legislature. My past experiences have prepared me to take the next step. I have showed a willingness to work with those from the other party in pursuit of the public good. I will listen and be available to all of the citizens. I am deeply concerned about the direction our country is headed. We have become a society which encourages government dependence rather than self-reliance. I see the foundations upon which our culture was built being eroded and swept away. I promise you honesty and transparency in all that I do. No one will work harder to bring jobs and economic development to this area.[7]

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Alabama

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
