"My goals if elected are simple:
- To continue to go through our State budget, line by line to insure that waste, fraud, and abuse is not included.
- To make our Budget completely transparent so that every taxpayer dollar can be accounted for.
- To return control of our schools back to school boards and teachers.
- To insure that every child has the skills necessary to succeed in todays work force.
- To create a regulatory system that is easy to understand and encourages growth
- To insure that our infastructure is capable of handling a growing economy.
- To insure that every citizen of Michigan has an equal opportunity to succeed."

Elections for the Michigan House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. James Haspas was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Daniela Garcia defeated Bob Harmsen, Geoff Haveman, Jim Holtrop and David Kroll in the Republican primary. Holtrop suspended his campaign before the primary due to "personal health issues." Garcia defeated Haspas in the general election.[3][4][5][1][6]
