An effort to recall Mayor Bob Johnston in Lincoln, North Dakota from his position was launched in February 2015.[1] The recall election took place on June 16, 2015.[2] Johnston was recalled.[3]
Recall supporters
Johnston was targeted for recall over repeatedly vetoing measures passed by the city council.[1]
Legislative response
Following the initiation of the recall attempt, the North Dakota House of Representatives approved a bill 90-1 that would allow a city council to override a mayoral veto.[4]

A recall petition was approved on February 3. Supporters had until May 4 to turn in 110 valid signatures to move the recall forward.[1] They submitted 219 signatures on March 11. The city auditor must now verify the signatures.
