Bob Nance
Bob Nance (Republican Party) was the Clay County Treasurer in Missouri. Nance assumed office on July 31, 2019. Nance left office on January 3, 2023.
Nance (Republican Party) ran for re-election for Clay County Treasurer in Missouri. Nance won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Gov. Mike Parson (R) appointed Nance to replace Ted Graves, who passed away in June 2019.[1]
In January 2023, the offices of county clerk, treasurer, collector, recorder of deeds, and public administrator were switched from elected to appointed positions. As of January 2023, Ballotpedia no longer covered these appointed positions in Clay County, Missouri.[2]
Nance is a former Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 36 from 2005 to 2013.
Biography
Nance was the owner of Nances Super from 1979-2008. He has also worked as an assistant manager and Retail Clerks Union for an A & P Store. He attended John F. Kennedy College.
Nance is a volunteer coach with Babe Ruth Baseball, President of the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Hospital Board, and a member of the Kiwanis Club, Lawson Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge, North Star Council Board (Scouts), and the Optimist Club.

Issues
No New Taxes Pledge
A minority of Missouri lawmakers signed the 2011 edition of the "No New Taxes Pledge." The Taxpayer Protection Pledge is offered by the nonprofit lobbying organization Americans for Tax Reform with the goal of opposing all tax increases as a matter of principle. Just one out of 34 state Senate members signed the 2011 pledge. Out of 163 state House members, only 38 lawmakers signed.
Nance signed the pledge.[3]
