Olsen was a Democratic candidate for Arizona's 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House. Olsen withdrew from the election before the primary scheduled for August 28, 2018.
Biography
Bob Olsen was born in Kodiak, Alaska. He obtained a B.A. in criminal justice from Columbia College in 1986 and a J.D. from Northwestern Law School in 2004. Olsen served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1979 to 2006. His professional experience includes working as an attorney, firefighter, police officer, DEA special agent, small business owner, trainer for the U.S. Navy Center for Security Forces, and intelligence analyst for the Joint POW/MIA accounting command.[1]
As of 2020, Olsen had been involved with the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF), American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Arizona Education Association (AEA), Sun City West Posse, and Rotary of Hawaii.[1]
