School board candidates in Arizona were not required to file a campaign finance report if they did not raise or spend more than $500. If they planned to stay under this threshold, they were permitted to file an exemption statement. This rendered them exempt from all other campaign finance reporting, provided they did not exceed the $500 threshold. Otherwise, candidates were not required to file any report until they raised or spent more than the threshold limit. At that point, they had to file a Statement of Organization within five business days from when the threshold was reached. The pre-general campaign finance report was due November 4, 2016. All campaign finance filing was handled by the Arizona Secretary of State.[5]

Stambach provided the following statement on his Facebook campaign page:

School boundary changes

Another interesting Boundary Change meeting, this time around the High Schools. It was great to hear the confidence they have in the District to make good recommendations and good choices. The several comments that were made around looking at the bigger picture, and the importance of doing that for the long term viability of the District, showed that they understand the importance of what is going on. Nice work from the courteous people at Desert Mountain HS.[8]

He also provided the following statement to the Maricopa County Education Service Agency:

I am asking for your vote for the Deer Valley Unified School District Governing Board.

My wife and I have been raising our now eight year old granddaughter for over six years. I became involved with her school when she enrolled in kindergarten. Since then I’ve frequently assisted in the classrooms, often filled in as crossing guard, lunch room monitor, office staff and various other positions within her school.

When she entered first grade I helped re-form an abandoned PTA and became treasurer the first year. I’m now in my second term as president. This is my third year as a member of the District Parent Organization. I am on my third year as a member of the school’s Continuous Improvement Team, have been Volunteer of the Year along with being a District Business Partner where I’ve contributed to several different schools in the District. I have in every instance been a strong proponent of communications within the school, the District and with all involved parties.

To me, students are first and foremost and that fact needs to always be at the forefront of everything we do. I’ve always valued and supported the educational system and want to see this high performing District continue to improve in its pursuit of providing the best possible education for our students.

I have a degree in Finance and Risk Management and worked in the insurance industry for twenty five years. Most of my career was in corporate management, including VP of a division in San Francisco. That office had been stagnant for a decade at $30,000,000 which I grew to $38,000,000 in less than three years. It was the fastest growing, most profitable office of twelve in California. After that I became Area VP overseeing thirteen Western States with revenues approaching $100,000,000, again showing growth and profit. Later I took the roll of Sr Area VP overseeing three of those divisions. My experience and success in large business environments gives me an understanding of the scope of what we are working with in our District and a clear, unique, advantage in overseeing an operation of this size.

My business style is to be professional in all aspects of my work, to listen, consider other’s input, seek common ground amongst often diverse views and to act in a manner fair to all. I’m a skilled negotiator and have often been called upon to deal with difficult circumstances in entrenched operations. I’m recognized as a consensus builder.

With my lifelong support of students, teachers and the educational system, my extensive volunteer work and the depth of my business experience, I bring valuable assets to the operation of the DVUSD and again ask for your support by voting for me, Bob Stambach, for the DVUSD Governing Board.
