Bobbie Singh-Allen

Bobbie Singh-Allen represented Trustee Area 4 on the Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Education in California. She was first appointed to the board on August 16, 2012.[1][2] Singh-Allen filed to run for re-election in the general election on November 6, 2018, but the election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Singh-Allen won the election by default.[3] She vacated the position in December of 2020 when she was elected mayor of Elk Grove.[4]
Biography
Singh-Allen was born in India and immigrated to the United States when she was four years old. She and her husband Jake Allen had two children enrolled in the Elk Grove Unified School District.[1]
Singh-Allen has worked as the executive vice president and chief operating officer for the California Lodging Industry Association. She earned her bachelor's degree from California State University at Sacramento and her J.D. from Lincoln Law School. Singh-Allen was also a member of the Elk Grove Teen Center’s Board of Directors and the delegate assembly for the California School Boards Association.[5]

General election
The general election was canceled. Bobbie Singh-Allen (Nonpartisan) won without appearing on the ballot.
2014
Three seats on the Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. No incumbent filed to run for re-election in Trustee Area 2, leaving the race to four candidates: Nicholas Aaron Webster, James Letoa, Tim Gorsulowsky and Crystal Martinez-Alire. Martinez-Alire won the seat. In Trustee Area 4, incumbent Bobbie Singh-Allen ran unopposed and won re-election by default. Elizabeth Marie Albiani, candidate for Trustee Area 5, also ran unopposed and won election to the board by default.
Results
This election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Trustee Area 4 incumbent Bobbie Singh-Allen was re-elected by default.[6]
Funding
The Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections Office does not publish and freely disclose school board candidate campaign finance reports. Ballotpedia staffers directly requested this information, but the municipal office refused those requests to make that information public.[7]
