Bobby Moak
Robert "Bobby" Moak (b. July 13, 1958) is a former Democratic member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 53 from 1984 to 2016.
Biography
Moak earned his A.A. from Southwest Mississippi Community College, B.P.A. from the University of Mississippi and J.D. from the Mississippi College School of Law. His professional experience includes working as an attorney in private practice.[1]

Issues
Race for Speaker
Following House Speaker William McCoy's (D) decision not to run for re-election in 2011, lawmakers poised to run for his position. According to reports, Moak was considered a possible candidate for the speakership. A possible frontrunner was Jeffrey Smith (R) who narrowly lost the 2008 speaker election by a single vote. Lawmakers elected Philip Gunn (R) at the start of the 2012 session.[2][3]

2015
Elections for the Mississippi House of Representatives took place in 2015. A primary election was held on August 4, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[4] Bobby Moak was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Vince Mangold was unopposed in the Republican primary. Mangold defeated Moak in the general election.

On November 8, 2011, Moak won re-election to District 53 of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He ran unopposed in the August 2 primary and was unchallenged in the November 8 general election.[5]
2007
On November 6, 2007, Moak was re-elected in District 53, defeating Constitution Party challenger Carl Mason.[6]
