Castrey highlighted the following political statement on her campaign website:
“ | Dear Voters,
As a Board Member, I use my mediation, business and teaching background to bring together students, parents, communities and staff with differing viewpoints to solve problems and enhance District programs. In these continuing fiscally challenging times, these leadership strategies have enabled our District to focus our financial and human resources on the educational needs of all students, without lost instruction days, enabling students to become creative, responsible, productive citizens. Measurable results include: increased student achievement, challenging student centered academic, art and athletic classes, multiple avenues of learning for career and college bound students, high quality instructional materials, improved technology and modernized, safe learning environments. My proven leadership and cooperation with other districts, cities, businesses and senior citizen organizations results in substantial benefits for all students through coordinated programming, services and activities. In 2013, I was awarded the prestigious Marian Bergeson Award for Board leadership. I want to continue working with you and the HBUHSD's fine staff to meet the challenges of providing quality educational programs as our District pro-actively manages finances during the State's fiscal recovery. That's why the HBUHSD Educators' and Classified Associations and numerous community leaders endorse me.[2] |
