Bonnie M. Wheaton

Bonnie M. Wheaton is a judge of the Eighteenth Circuit of Illinois.[1] She was first elected in 1992.[2] Wheaton was retained in the general election on November 8, 2016.
Education
Wheaton earned a B.A. from Carleton College in 1966, going on to receive her M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) from the University of Michigan in 1968 and her J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1978.[2]
Career
Prior to her election in 1992, Wheaton served appointments as circuit judge and associate judge. She was a supervising judge of mandatory arbitration for the Eighteenth Circuit Court as well as a partner of the law firm Wylie, Wheaton & Assoc. P.C.[2]

Elections
2016
Judges of the Illinois Circuit Court stand for retention after their first full term. To be retained, a judge must receive at least 60 percent of the vote.[3][4] Bonnie M. Wheaton was retained in the Illinois Eighteenth Circuit Court, Bonnie Wheaton Retention Election with 81.84 percent of the vote.
