A Boulder City Excise Tax Extension question was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Boulder County, which is in Colorado, where it was approved.
This question authorized the City of Boulder to extend taxes on electricity consumed from its former expiration date of March 31, 2013 to March 31, 2018. The rates of these taxes are $0.0049 per KWH for Residential, $0.0009 per KWH for Commercial, and $0.0003 per KWH for Industrial customers. This revenue will be used to expand the use of renewable energy and improve energy efficiency.[1]
