I am a lifelong resident of the district who has a unique combination of education and experience to represent my neighbors in the State Assembly. I have a degree in Political Science and Minor in Economics from UW-Eau Claire. Capitol experience having previously worked as a legislative staffer and budget and policy analyst. I currently serve on the Columbia County Board and Chair our HHS Committee. I also serve on the Town of Pacific Plan Commission.

I have served my community for 24 plus years as a volunteer firefighter. Also volunteer with the Portage Elks Lodge, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Columbia County Kinship Program and sponsor the Bulldog Stomp Cancer Run/Walk.

My wife Lisa and I have 2 daughters, Maddie (23) and Katie (21).

I am a Realtor with First Weber and also work part time as a substitute teacher.
  • I have the education and experience to effectively govern and a willingness to work across the aisle to find common ground and common sense solutions.
  • I am committed to the communities I live, work and play in. It is why I have put almost 25 years in as a volunteer firefighter. It's why I serve on the county board. It's why I chose to raise my family here. It's why I am involved in many community efforts and organizations.
  • Responsible and responsive government and representation is only achieved through engaging those who you serve.
As Chair of the Health and Human Services Cmte for Columbia County I see first hand the demand and need for services related. Whether it be mental health resources or public health initiatives. I am absolutely passionate about ensuring we meet these needs.

As a substitute teacher I have been in the trenches of public education. The underfunding of our public schools and the culture war on teachers and curriculums must be remedied. Smaller school districts do not have the tax base to be fully self sustaining. We need to return to the State's commitment of 2/3's funding formula. We also must not allow for more public monies to be siphoned for private school voucher programs.
A willingness to do the right thing through having a servant heart, and a willingness to humbly work with individuals of all political persuasions to find solutions will provide us with a government that we can rely on and be proud of.

Listening skills and careful considerations of all aspects and impacts of legislation must be top priority above partisan politics.
The core responsibilities of elected officials include responsible oversight and spending of public dollars and providing adequate services for those dollars to benefit the most people.

If we elect enough moderate, common sense leaders who have the interests of the people rather than the interests of their party at the forefront, then we can achieve a return to good government.
Government is only productive if it is able to function. These branches of government must be able to work together on behalf of the people.
Governing, budgeting and constituent service can be complex. It is absolutely beneficial to elect legislators who have a grasp on the process and know how to get information and where to obtain resources.
Government worked much more effectively when legislators debated policy, but respected one another. The zero sum game and nuclear option politics of the past couple of decades has led to political extremism, stalemates, and not much in the way of consequential policy that has been to the benefit of the State.
Potentially, but at this time I feel the best use of my skills would be in the legislature.
Health, Education, Tourism, Ag, Public Safety
Financial transparency is essential to ensure the public trust. The people have the power to hold their government accountable if they exercise their right to vote and get engaged in the process of self governance.
