Brandon's upbringing as a military kid, as well as his politically active mother, engrained a deep love of freedom, service, rights, and values that has shaped who Brandon has become.

Around the 2020 elections, Brandon was deeply disturbed by the political extremism, loyalty to party rather than loyalty to values, and the divide these issues created in the American people.

Brandon decided to begin a campaign to represent Utah's 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House. He is determined to reintroduce the common ground between Republicans and Democrats and offer solutions to controversial issues that need more than a "Republican answer' or a "Democrat answer". He is a moderate conservative who strongly stands by the Constitution.
  • Utah's 3rd District is heavily conservative and has the lowest average age of any congressional district in the United States. As a millenial with strong values, morals, and ideas, I plan to work closely with Utah citizens to know how I can best represent them in Washington D.C.
  • Any middle ground between Democrats and Republicans has been lost in the extremism that has taken root in the past few years. I believe Americans should work together to find the best solutions to issues. Those solutions may not be the "Republican answer" or the "Democrat answer".
  • I strongly support the Constitution of the United States of America. I believe it was an inspired document and we should stick to it. As the Representative for Utah's 3rd District, I will introduce and support legislation that aligns with the Constitution, and I will fight against legislation that does not. I will work to stop government overreach and inappropriate use of power.
Human rights, COVID-19, climate change, voting rights, government spending, second amendment, working families, taxes, abortion, and education.
I have strong values and morals, and I am empathetic and work to understand the opinions of others. I have a great understanding of the different levels of government as they are established and have a strong desire to protect the freedoms in this country. I avoid conflict and speaking poor of people, understanding there is good in almost everyone. I communicate well and have strong opinions.I believe in accountability and that every action has consequences.
I believe the core responsibilities for a Representative in the House are:

- To know the people they represent and what is important to them
- Communicate effectively with the people they represent
- Create legislation that expands and/or protects the freedoms that Americans enjoy

- Do research to understand legislation being introduced. Once it is understood, a representative should support or oppose the legislation depending on if it will empower and protect or hurt and hinder the people
I would like to leave a legacy of an honest, caring, and effective patriot who stood up for the citizens of the United States and who did all he could to protect them with the power he was given.
The first historical event I remember happening in my life was the terrorist attacks on 9/11. I was 4 years old, playing with my twin sister while my mom watched the news. As the report of the terror attacks aired live I remember my mom beginning to cry and hold us, telling us that "it will be alright." That memory, along with my experience being a military child, has instilled in me a strong love for this country, people who protect it, local heroes, and the freedoms that we enjoy. I intend to protect those freedoms so that my sons and their children can have the same freedoms.
The Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. I really love the fantastic storytelling as well as how nuanced all the characters are. I think it is one the most well-written series there is.
Carnaval del Barrio from the film "In the Heights"
I think previous political experience could be good or bad. It could be beneficial if the person knows how to apply what they know to this new position. I also think previous experience could get in the way and hinder effectiveness if the person isn't able to step up and fully fulfill their new duties.
The governments within the United States are meant to be run by the people. I believe any person who understands how the government works and who has a love and passion for this country can be a fantastic representative.
I do. Legislation can happen relatively quickly, and within two years the people should should know if they want to re-elect or replace their representative.
I think term limits should be implemented for Congress men and women. I feel strongly that being a politician should not be a career. When serving the people becomes a career, politicians tend to forget why and who they serve and work to better themselves. The government was meant to be run by the people of United States, and I believe that means men and women who decide they want to make a difference for a few years, not life-long politicians.
Yes and no. I believe cooperation is necessary and desirable in policymaking and legislation. I do not think that freedoms should be compromised, though.
Americans, whether Democrat or Republican, all want to be free and happy and feel successful. I don't think there is one right way to achieve that and we should listen to understand each other. In creating legislation, I believe political parties should work together to find the best solution for as many people as possible.
