|While at River Forest, many of his teachers would express their concern over the future of public education because of the policies pursued by former Indiana State Superintendent Tony Bennett. Disturbed by this trend during his freshman year at Wabash College, Brandon volunteered for his first political campaign in support of Glenda Ritz for State Superintendent.
While at Wabash College, Brandon studied Political Science and Rhetoric. He was also elected to leadership positions in the Philanthropy club (Alpha Phi Omega) and the Debate Team.
After returning home to the Region he loves, Brandon has committed himself to the fight for justice. He has had conversations with thousands of residents all across the Region and, as a result, he is deeply concerned with how the culture of political corruption in Lake County discourages participation in our democracy.
That is why Brandon has committed himself to this fight, but he knows that no one person can do it alone. We need a movement of engaged citizens to stand up and say, "Enough is enough!"
Join us.- Climate change is an existential threat. We must meet 100% of Indiana's power demands through clean, renewable, zero-emission energy sources. We must also allow consumers to purchase or produce their own renewable energy.
- Workers' Rights create a strong economy. We must repeal Right-to-Work, raise the minimum wage, expand paid family leave and sick days, and fight for the future of public education in Indiana.
- Criminal justice reform is a moral imperative. We must shift focus from retributive justice to restorative justice. This means we stop criminalizing poverty, end cash bail, abolish private prisons, and ban the death penalty. We must also legalize marijuana, release incarcerated non-violent offenders, and expunge their criminal records.
I support all measures to reform our state electoral system to better reflect the will of the people. This includes ranked choice voting, proportional representation, computerized redistricting reform, publicly financed elections, and a ban on corporate contributions.
