Brandon Patterson is a lifelong Staten Islander, raised in a hard working and union middle class family. A product of New York's public school systems, Brandon has his Bachelors in Political Science from SUNY Albany and his Masters in Public Administration from Baruch.

Having worked in every level of government, Brandon's knowledge of how government works is unmatched on Staten Island and Brooklyn. He is an advocate who knows the players and will be at the negotiating table. His dedication to ensuring a better Staten Island and City has not gone unnoticed, Brandon was awarded a rising star, 20 under 40 twice from the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation, as well as State Government Employee of the Year.

Brandon was the first candidate to enter this race in early 2019 and has been talking to voters ever since. His neighbors in Staten Island and Bay Ridge deserve a candidate who knows how to reach across the aisle, who knows who to go to in government, but most importantly, will have a seat at the table and be the voice for them up in Albany.

  • I want to work for all members of my community, no matter what your politics. I believe we need to get back to the place where we see each other as neighbors and friends and not enemies will allow us to build a better future together.
  • Small business is the bedrock of our neighborhoods. During times of prosperity and crisis, are local shops are always there to lend a hand. Whether its the bakery donating extra products to food banks or the restaurant that has been a part of the community for 60 years, the neighborhood starts with it's small businesses
  • I want to make Staten Island and Bay Ridge more affordable for the people to live there. It is my goal to make sure that our community can stay as a community for generations, and that means developing affordable housing and small business
It's getting harder and harder for families to find access to the resources required for their kids to continue their education. We need to expand the Excelsior Scholarship and ensure college affordability for the next generation. And to keep people here in New York, we need to build jobs locally to ensure that we can continue to have thriving small businesses and financial opportunities on both sides of the bridge. Whatever their job, we will get them to work quicker
I look up to my parents because they set the example of the man I am today. My father is a retired teacher, and set an example on why living in a union household is so important. Our family had great health benefits, we had a roof over our head, and it gave me the ability to buy my first car for my first job and go off to State college. My mother worked in the private sector, but set an example of hard work and dedication in advancing throughout the corporate ladder. My parents were my biggest cheerleaders, and continue to be today.
Be responsive and accessible to all constituents, regardless of their political affiliation.
One of a better New York, one that doesn't nickle and dime the middle class, that ensures a more affordable New York for everyone.
The President's Club

Extremely insightful look into how stressful in can be to make important decisions and how insular and lonely this career can be.
The song from the Kars for Kids commercial, unfortunately
I believe my experience working in government is extremely beneficial. I understand how the legislature works, and will be able to start my vision for a better community on day one. I have built relationships throughout the years to ensure I can be successful for my district.
The greatest challenge will be recovering economically from COVID. We need to create an environment where we stimulate the economy and raise revenue, without raising taxes. It will also be important to ensure we provide the proper healthcare to those who were on the front lines and are essential workers.
I believe there must be a working relationship on negotiation, but they both must remember they are two separate branches of government.
