Leveraging technology to improve peoples lives
Winston Churchill, Sir William Stephenson, FDR, and Niel Stephenson light the way for me. Winston taught me to never give up. Intrepid taught me the real impact of working behind the scenes has (he saved us all from almost certain Nazi global domination). FDR taught me compassion for all peoples, and Niel Stephenson for showing me the future.
Honesty, transparency, and ability to compromise for the greater good.
I’m honest. I’m smart. I’m a good listener and I genuinely care about others. I’m also a trained Political Scientist who understands how power and politics work.
Govern with integrity, always keeping the interests of the City and its citizens first and for-most.
A legacy of Anchorage transformed into one of the most dynamic and advanced city’s in the world.
Golf caddy. 12 years old. Bag was as tall as me. Absolutely sucked at it, but fell in love with the game. Abduct at the game, but still play as often as I can, which isn’t that often.
Too many books. I devour them. If I had to name just one it would have to be The Bible. Pretty much every lesson you will ever want to learn in it.
Substance abuse. Many years ago (+30) I struggled with substance abuse. It led me down the wrong path. for a long time.and I wasn’t able to live up to full potential. Fortunately, those days are a distant memory, but I will never forget.
Leading from the front. Leading by example. Always being available. Continuously learning, mentoring, and growing as a servant leader.
The friendly people, wide open spaces, and fresh air and water.
Brain drain due to high cost of living, rampant homelessness and associated crime.
Close partnership across the board, especially for Anchorage, Alaskas largest city.
Again, close partnership. Federal employees living and working in Anchorage contribute significantly to the city’s ecosystem, professional & scientific class, Various Federal entities control or manage large areas of the State.
I don't approve of political jokes-we've seen too many get elected.
Again, close. You can’t have a thriving city without a safe city. The Mayor and the City’s police force should be well coordinated to take on organized drug cartels and street crimes that cast a long shadow over the City.
Strong! Taxpayer money should be spent and invested with great care and mindfulness. Above all, with full transparency.
