Brenda Haywood is a former member of the Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee, representing District 3. She was elected in the runoff election on September 10, 2015. She did not seek re-election in 2019.

Born in Nashville, Haywood is a retired teacher and administrator of the Metro Nashville School System. She is a wellness consultant and talk show personality with 760 AM's gospel radio programming.

Haywood is the founder and CEO of the Royal Heirs Youth Academy, a nonprofit that aims to "empower our youth through awareness, education, information, mentorship and community resources. In addition, the organization is designed to effectively satisfy classes and community service hours assigned to 'at-risk' juveniles through the Juvenile Court System."[1]

She is also the recipient of Dr. Richard Enoch's Humanitarian Award and has affiliations with the following organizations:

The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 3, Brenda Haywood and Terry Clayton advanced to the runoff election, defeating Timothy R. Coleman.[2] Haywood defeated Clayton in the runoff election.[3] Incumbent Walter Hunt was term-limited. He ran for election to an at-large seat.[4]
