Judge hears petition to end conservatorship over Britney Spears' financial assets and business arrangements

On June 30, 2021, Penny was the presiding judge in Britney Spears' petition to end a conservatorship over Spears' financial assets and business arrangements. Spears' father, James Spears, has served in the role since 2008. Penny ruled that James Spears should remain as co-conservator and approved Britney Spears' request to appoint the Bessemer Trust, a corporate fiduciary, as co-conservator.[2]
