I have has spent a lifetime working to improve the lives of others. My tenacity and grit as a college basketball coach (College of Charleston & Boston College) and a successful businessman have prepared me to make the tough decisions in Columbia. My real-world experience as someone who has run basketball camps for thousands of youths in Charleston for 20 years, worked on Wall Street, and managed large portfolios of real estate, sets me apart from career politicians. As a coach, I have always been able to bring out the best in young athletes. As your State Representative, I will bring the same resolve and determination to fighting for you. I moved to Charleston in 1991 and lived downtown for three years before taking an opportunity in New York City. I returned to Charleston a few years later and have lived on Johns Island for the past 26 years. I enjoy golfing at the Charleston Muni, Boating the Stono River, and practicing yoga at James island Yoga.
  • As a 30 year resident of John Island I understand the needs of our district and know I’m someone who will fight for all of us when making decisions in Columbia.
  • Our district does not need the status quo of the last 18 years. If elected, my goal is for my constituents to say Brendan Magee made a difference for District 119.
  • Unlike my opponent, I am not a lawyer legislator and career politician. I’m a business man, family man, coach, and mentor. I offer a fresh change. I’m running for office to make a difference for all of us.
Infrastructure, Natural Resources, Mental Health, Judicial & Insurance Reform.
Listening to my constituents and representing the best interests of District 119 regardless of political affiliation.
My very first job was delivering The Washington Post before school for two years (5th & 6th grade).
