|As a two-term Commissioner and current Chair of Walnut Creek’s Parks and Open Space, Co-President of the Community Arts Foundation, Co-Chair of the Yes on Measure O Committee, local real estate broker, and father of three young children who has given his time and expertise to Walnut Creek and local non-profits for the past decade, I am called to ensure that Walnut Creek remains the city that we love.
As a Walnut Creek Parks Commissioner, I serve our community from within by creating sustainable solutions to improve our beautiful parks and open spaces.
As Co-Chair of the Yes on Measure O Committee, I was instrumental in ensuring that we have the resources to keep Walnut Creek safe, fund large infrastructure projects like the new Aquatic and Community Center at Heather Farm Park, expand programs for local seniors and youths, and sustain our high quality of life for the next generation.
I’m an experienced community leader, local business owner, volunteer, and father uniquely qualified to lead Walnut Creek into a bright future. I will ensure Walnut Creek remains safe, promote smart housing decisions, and expand our tradition of economic vitality. I will continue to be a strong independent voice who makes decisions with the best intentions for my community.- Public Safety. Everyone wants to feel safe. It’s important to remember that, overall, Walnut Creek is a safe city in which to live, work, shop, and play.
A recent crime report released by the city shows crime is down, and the overwhelming percentage is property crime. However, I believe that crime numbers do not always reflect the perception at the street level, especially when we see high-profile property crimes downtown.
I am proud to have helped pass Measure 0, which added five new officers to our streets. I’ll continue our tradition of strong leadership and work with staff, police officers, and leaders to keep our community safe. - Smart Development. I will ensure that we meet housing needs so that the next generation can grow here. As a real estate broker, I’ve seen friends and clients leave the state because they simply can’t afford it. How many stories do we know about children who go to college, come back, and cannot afford to live here? I want to make sure the next generation can afford housing here. We must make intelligent decisions about where we build. I support creating new homes near existing jobs and transportation to limit impacts on traffic, schools, and our quality of life.
- Economic Strength: We must maintain and grow our economic vitality, continue to be business-friendly, especially small businesses, which are the backbone of the economy, and keep our business centers vibrant. I see opportunities both in the downtown area and other areas like Shadelands to bring high-paying jobs to the area so local people don’t have to drive to the South Bay every day.
They endorse me because they believe I am the most qualified candidate in this race. My two-term Commissioner experience, my current role as Parks and Open Space Commission Chair, and my leadership as Co-Chair of the Yes on Measure O Committee and Co-President of the Community Arts Foundation set me apart.
