“ EDUCATION

We can all agree that public education is vital for an educated workforce. I will fight for equitable public funding for all schools, not just select schools.

TUITION
I'm seeing my classmates graduate with massive amounts of debt. Decades ago, government paid for approximately 75% of college tuition. Today, it's 25% if you're lucky. As your Representative, I will fight for those burdened by impossible tuition and will explore fiscally sound options to do so.

TRANSPORTATION
We need to re-invest in our crumbling transportation infrastructure. Roughly 70% of bridges in our state do not pass inspection, and many of our roads are due for a much-needed upgrade. The Highway 10 corridor from Big Lake through Elk River is in desperate need of repair and renovation. I would support a fiscally sound plan to help my district's vital roadway.

HEALTHCARE
Everyone would agree that a healthy population is good for everybody. I support MNSure, and the work the government is doing to make healthcare affordable for the people in our state. Without MNSure, people could not afford decent health care policies and instead, racked up huge emergency room bills that us taxpayers end up paying for. We all benefit from affordable insurance.[2][3]

Elections for the Minnesota House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 12, 2014, and a general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Brenden Ellingboe was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Nick Zerwas was unopposed in the Republican primary. Zerwas defeated Ellingboe in the general election.[4][5][6]
