I'm a husband and father first and foremost, and I'm a longtime small business owner in Toledo. My goal is to give people more choice and to use the office of Lucas County Commissioner to actually help people in Lucas County rather than utilizing politics as a means of control or to maintain power.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Government, like many individuals, tends to spend beyond its means, often using funds unwisely and allocating them to less important things before discovering nothing is left for more important ones. I will present and advocate for policies that curb this trend.
  • Electoral Reform: Some say the two dominant political parties don't suppress competition, but they have always put up roadblocks to any competing party's access to elections and either dismissed or outright mocked its ideology. Moreover, Republicans have taken to appropriating the label of "Libertarian" to soften their images or appeal to disillusioned voters, while Democrats dismiss Libertarians with reductive ideas designed to lump them in with Republicans in the fear of losing part of their base. These are strategies to neutralize a potential threat to the duopoly, which is something I will attempt to create regardless of the efforts of the current status holders who intend to keep things as they are.
  • Property Rights: Toledo is in a new phase in which so many historical properties that held family businesses or created technologies that are now obsolete are empty properties. We also have open spaces with no current use. We need to decide as communities within Lucas County what our priorities are, what kind of facilities we need, and how best to use the land and vacant properties we have, while make it easier and cheaper for business owners looking tor space to find the ones that work for them.
Economy: the cost of living continues to increase, while spending runs rampant. This must change.
Taxes: we need to cut waste and stop funding pointless government spending with taxpayer money while determining the best uses for it. We need to tax people at the lowest possible rate. Property taxes should be abolished completely.
