Boncher ran for election to the 63rd District Court.
Primary: He was successful in the primary on August 5, 2014, receiving 26.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Rock Wood, Charles F. Boekeloo, Andrea Crumback, Jody E. Jernigan, and Jeffery J. O'Hara.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46 percent of the vote. He competed against Jeffery J. O'Hara.

Education
Boncher received his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and his J.D. degree from Wayne State University.[3]
Career
Boncher is an attorney with the law firm of Schenk, Boncher and Rypma.[4]
