Griffin ran for election to the 212th District Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 35.2 percent of the vote. He competed against George Young, Patricia Grady and Keith A. Gross.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, Griffin faced Grady in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. Griffin was defeated, earning 48.6 percent of the vote.
