Brett Doster is a Republican political consultant in Florida. He has worked for several of former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush's campaigns, including his 2016 presidential campaign. Doster has also advised Attorney General of Florida Pam Bondi (R) and former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney (R).

Early career

Brett Doster graduated from The Citadel, a classical military college in Charleston, S.C. After college, he worked as a special assistant for former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush (R) during his unsuccessful bid for the 1993 Florida gubernatorial election. After that election, Doster sold commercial real estate in Tallahassee, Fla. before helping Bush win the Florida governorship in 1998.[1][2]

In 2000, Doster worked as political director in Florida for former President George W. Bush's presidential campaign. After the election, he worked for Gov. Jeb Bush as director of the Florida Office of Trade, Tourism and Economic Development, now known as the Florida Secretary of the Department of Economic Opportunity. He went on to run the Florida portion of George W. Bush's 2004 re-election campaign. After the 2004 election, Doster founded Front Line Strategies, a public relations firm based in Tallahassee, Fla.[2][3][4]

Later career

Doster worked as campaign manager for former Florida Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher (R) when he ran in the Republican Party primary for the 2006 Florida gubernatorial election. In 2010, he worked as a general consultant for Pam Bondi (R) when she ran for Attorney General of Florida.[5][6][7]

Former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney (R) hired Doster to be his Florida campaign manager when he ran for President in 2012.[8]

In 2013, Campaigns & Elections named Doster a top Republican Party influencer in Florida.[9]

Doster went to South Carolina in 2015 to work as a senior advisor for Jeb Bush's Right to Rise USA Super PAC. The Super PAC is supporting Bush's 2016 presidential campaign.[2][10]
