Brett brings extensive experience and knowledge building and improving customer experiences from his career in the tech and legal industries, and his experience running a small business. He is also actively involved in transit advocacy work to make transit greater in Denver. Most critically, he rides transit regularly.
  • My #1 priority is making RTD safer by improving the rider experience to increase ridership. A key component of this will be igniting support to hire transit ambassadors to be present throughout the RTD system and to help riders and enforce the code of conduct.
  • Beyond improving safety, improving the experience of riding RTD will increase ridership and start to build momentum to further improve service. This includes improving reliability and frequency.
  • Increasing equity in the system is a high priority to ensure we continue to operate a fair and equitable system. Improving the rider experience will build equity because improving reliability, frequency, efficient routing, and increased service to desired places will benefit regular riders disproportionally.
I am most passionate about policy at the intersection of transit, housing, and environment because it shapes how we move, live, and breath.
RTD plays a critical role in planning for a better future. Our region must prepare for over one million new residents by 2050 while also transitioning to be carbon free. Trains and busses are the most efficient form of transit and significantly more cost efficient than cars. The planning and building of a world class regional transportation system that eliminates traffic, fixes air quality, and makes our lives better starts today with the diligent work of people serving the public on the board of RTD.
I somberly recall the attacks on 911 as the first major historical event to happen in my lifetime. Despite being only 2 years old, I recall the news programs and my family coming home from school and work early.
