Brett Loveless
Brett Loveless is a judge for Division III of the New Mexico 2nd Judicial District Court. He assumed office in 2013. His current term ends on January 1, 2031.
Loveless ran for re-election for the Division III judge of the New Mexico 2nd Judicial District Court. He won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.
Loveless was appointed by Susana Martinez to fill a vacancy which opened when M. Monica Zamora was elected to the New Mexico Court of Appeals.[1]

Loveless received both his undergraduate degree and his J.D. from the University of New Mexico.[5]
Career
Loveless originally held a seat on the court after being appointed by Governor Susana Martinez in 2012 but was unable to retain that seat in the general election on November 6, 2012. Governor Martinez re-appointed him to a seat left open by Judge M. Monica Zamora. Prior to his time on the bench, he worked as a district attorney.[6]
