I am an attorney running my own law practice focusing on Patents, Copyrights, and Trademarks. I have represented clients ranging from individuals and small businesses to large corporations protecting their inventions, creative works, and other intellectual property assets. I was also past president of a toastmaster's club, which helps members improve their public speaking. I plan to use my work and other life experience's to make the lives of the residents of district 24 better with Brett (me) representing them with an emphasis on innovative ways to make government work better.
  • My focus is on making people's lives better. First, we have to tackle inflation and improve the economy. We can do this by reducing the red tape to small businesses and not raising taxes. With my background as patent, copyright and trademark attorney, I want to create a climate that fosters more innovation in my district to create high paying jobs and attract business to our area. This also includes improving the education in our schools.
  • Second, I want to better protect and defend the constitutional rights and freedoms of the people of Missouri. This includes allowing parents to decide how to best educate their children.
  • Third, I want to better protect our values. This includes supporting our police and provide them the tools to help reduce crime. This also includes improving the quality of life in the community to decrease the incentive for people to commit crimes. I also want foster legislation that strengthens our values and families.
I am running for state senator to try to make people's lives better just as I have done so in my law practice. My district is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. I want to make it better. One specific area of public policy that I would like to improve is to make the adoption process of children smoother. My dad was adopted by loving parents and ended up being the CEO of a fire protection company. My wife and I also adopted a beautiful daughter. With abortion now being illegal in Missouri except for cases of a medical emergency, I want use centers to improve women's health and especially help them when they are pregnant. Rather than travel to another state for an abortion, I would like to make it easier for them to instead choose to use these centers to provide the necessary medical treatment for the mother and child to deliver the baby. If the mother does not want to keep the baby, I would like to pass laws making it easier for her to give up the baby for adoption to loving parents. It is a win win situation for the mother, child, and parents of the adopted child.
Ronald Reagan. Before he came office, the United States was suffering from stagflation and problems oversea with other countries. He help turn our country around by reducing taxes, improving our defense, and focusing on our values that made America great. He also had an optimistic attitude and believed that the American people could overcome these problems without government overreach. He also preached values and exemplified those values in his daily life. I intend to follow his philosophy as a public official.
Yes, I would recommend reading the Bible. It contains everything you need to know as to how to live a moral life. I try to follow the verse where it says "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." and "Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
The elected official should be ethical, professional, and be persistent in getting things done for his constituents. Over my career as an attorney, I have tried to emulate these qualities. In fact, I have had very good reviews from many of my clients that touch on these qualities. The below link shows several positive reviews from my clients related to my work.

That I did the right thing.
My first job was corn detasseling when I was 13. It lasted about a month. I learned from this job the importance of hard work and grit in getting the job done. The job also made me understand and empathize with what hardworking men and women go through in their jobs.
The governor and state legislatures should work together on issues that they find common ground and focus on making the lives for the people of Missouri better
Improving the economy and ensuring that our values and freedoms are protected.
Yes, especially on issues that we have common ground. We need to focus on getting the business for the people of Missouri done not personalities.
First, you have to stand by your core principles. If there is common ground in the policy, then compromising makes sense as it becomes a win win situation.
