Brian Berger is a judge of the Berrien County Trial Court in Michigan. He was appointed by Governor Rick Snyder (R) on November 14, 2015, to replace retired Judge Thomas E. Nelson. He was sworn in on January 4, 2016. Berger ran for election in 2016 to serve for the remainder of Nelson's term.[1]

Berger received a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in 1979 and a J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1982. His professional experience includes working as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Berrien County and as a private attorney in the personal injury law firm of Butzbaugh & Ehrenberg. At the time of his judicial appointment in 2015, Berger practiced law with the firm of Berger & LaForge.[1]

Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[2] Incumbent Brian Berger ran unopposed in the Berrien County Probate Court general election.[3]
