Brian Christensen

Brian Christensen is a judge for the Seventh Circuit Court of Natrona County, Wyoming. He was appointed by Governor Matt Mead late 2013, and started in February 2014.[1]
Christensen won retention in a retention election on November 8, 2016.[2]
Biography
Christensen earned his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Wyoming.[3] Christensen became an assistant district attorney in 1984 after graduating law school, and remained in that position until he joined the bench in 2014. He has helped start several programs aimed to prevent repeat crimes, many of which address juvenile crime. In 1990, he helped to develop the Youth Diversion Program, which drops first offense charges for minors who meet certain requirements like earning passing grades. He was also involved in the development of the Natona County Adult Drug Court, the Single Point of Entry program, and the Children's Advocacy Project (CAP).[1]

Wyoming held retention elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. Judges up for election in 2016 had to file for retention races by May 27, 2016. Brian Christensen was retained in the Wyoming Seventh Circuit Court (Christensen Seat) election with 79.58 percent of the vote. [2]
