As of 2016, Brian Clymer was a workers compensation and Social Security disability lawyer in Tucson, Arizona. He was also one of the top contributors opposing the Arizona Education Finance Amendment, Proposition 123 in 2016.
Career
After graduating from the University of Virginia in 1975 and then with a law degree from the University of Arizona in 1978, Clymer began Social Security disability and workers compensation laws with the firm Ely and Bettini. In 1981 he became a shareholder in Tretschok, McNamara & Clymer, and in 1996 he started his own practice.[1]
Clymer was also a Democratic Party worker, serving as the chair of the Pima County Democratic Party's 9th Legislative District in 2016.[2]
Political activity
Clymer was one of the top donors opposing the Arizona Education Finance Amendment, Proposition 123 in 2016.[3] He told The Verde Independent that his opposition to the initiative was the ceiling on education funding proposed. He said, "It means that we will never even be at the median, be at the middle, of states in educational funding. ... This is going to relegate us to the bottom, or certainly the lower half."[4]
