I'm a proud father of two kids in the Adams 12 School District who go to Hulstrom and STEM Lab. Having grown up in the AZ public school system, I come from a time where the focus in school was on the fundamentals of education: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Today's education has strayed from this and my platform is a Return to Fundamentals, removing Politics and Agendas from the classroom.
  • Return to Objective based fundamental learning
  • Removing Politics and Agendas from the classroom
  • Empowering children through accountability, not building the victimhood mentality
Personally I am really concerned about fundamental subjects not being fully explored and taught to our children. I feel their time in the classroom is being stolen by subjective topics, political discussions, and agendas to influence their social life. I want children to have the strongest core of basic principles so as they mature, they have the mental toolbox ready to formulate complex thoughts and decisions.

In additional to this, I want to continue the districts security efforts, and eliminate a repeat of the COVID failures that were instituted in the district. Ultimately, my platform has strong roots in Libertarian ideals, and a focus on building the minds of our children to be better equipped for the future they will be taking on and the most powerful of free-thinkers they can be.
I look up to anyone who doesn't accept their circumstances and understands the accountability they owe to themselves. Those who persevere and own their life are the ones I respect and would follow.
Being a Libertarian, it's easy to gather an understanding of where I come from politically. Some great examples would be Spike Cohen, Dave Smith, Phil Labonte. I'm also a big fan of the likes of Russell Brand, Tim Pool, Joe Rogan, and Jordan Peterson.
Great communicator, openminded, critical thinker, and problem solver
Transparency, honesty, effective communication, and understanding diversity of opinions.
I would like to place the district into a position where it is seen as a leader of Colorado education and a breeding ground of successful of critical and free thinkers.
Application Engineer at Newport Corporation. 1.5 years
Kizuna No Kiseki by Man with a mission and Milet.
Life itself is a struggle, but how much is up to the individual. For me, my biggest obstacle in life has been my hearing. I was born with defective eardrums and have had chronic issues my whole life. To this day I have reduced hearing but am still functional without the use of any additional aids.
Development and adherence to district’s policies, curriculums, overseeing administrators, compliance with governance standards, and assessment/regulation of superintendent.
Adams 12 District 2, approximately 49000 community members
Focusing on efficiency in education, eliminating wasteful spending, and enforcing district policies and guidelines assuring they are followed.
Having an open-door type of policy and not treating interactions as a nuisance, but more like an opportunity to learn and evolve. Communication and dialog is always key, and having an open mind, not being dismissive simply because of one's politics always helps.
Good teaching is how effectively the educator can instill the knowledge in their charges. To measure this isn't simply a matter of testing scores, and if it is possible, I would like to have spot checks done in classes that measure student knowledge on core subjects to make sure they are at a place we feel they should be. I'm always open to advanced teaching methods and techniques, as long as they are effective and objective in nature. Subjective approaches that put too much emphasis on emotional based learning and remove from the kids accountability and opportunities of failure I feel are a step back in the educational process. Kids should be challenged, feel frustration, and learn how to handle adversity.
Technical training is always a great compliment to the educational process and should be strengthened, not discouraged. Adams 12 does a good job of making this type of learning available, and I think that should continue. More community service opportunities would be a great way to improve community relations, as well as teach kids more civic responsibility. Sometimes the best ideas are actually old ideas made anew, and in the case of community service, that appears to be the case.
Adams 12 has a good history of attaining bonds, and that for sure should continue. I would also evaluate budget expenditures to make sure they are responsible and not wasteful, looking for opportunities to improve. Community fundraising is always great, and I would have to sit and evaluate how communities can better view the use of property taxes for school funding.
Safety in schools for Adams 12 is quite good already, and current efforts should continue. The most recent failing though was the COVID guidelines they strictly followed for too long. Remote learning and masking were failed initiatives, but they were pushed down from the top, so I do not hold Adams 12 100% liable. In the end, being a Libertarian, I believe the individual is responsible for their safety, and the implementation of authoritarian measures across the whole are not a viable alternative.
Counselors in schools are already a prevalent option, and I believe the district provides counseling for faculty/staff as needed or it's covered. I would continue such practices and make sure mental health issues are fully supported and not kept at the wayside.
Anything my kids tell me. Their laughter at their own jokes makes life that much sweeter, even if the joke is terrible.
Any mentions of clubs or groups where membership in them is to be kept secret from parents/guardians should not be tolerated. I would shift away from Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and return to a more fundamental approach. Better enforcement of school rules/guidelines would be nice, and making sure they are equally applied, regardless of status.
Ideally it would be focused on objective based lesson plans, devoid of politics and agendas. Subjects would be presented and taught based on facts, and the goal would be creating a superior foundation in fundamental subjects so the students can formulate and build their own critical thoughts on social topics and matters.
Terribly. Remote learning was a horrible option and a lot of students regressed during this. The masking requirements were also poorly done, and I feel the hygiene campaign that they attempted was poorly executed and not efficient. Accountability to parents who sent kids in sick should also have been enforced better, and a more realistic assessment of COVID morbidity rates among kids and the healthy should of been explored. I would never have gone to a remote learning model, required masking only if a student has a persistent cough or signs of a cold, held parents accountable for sending kids into school knowing they were sick, improve focused on personal hygiene and how important it is to general health.
As a parent myself, I have opportunities of engagement daily when I drop-off/pick-up my kids. Along with this, I would like to have opportunities at school functions to be available for parent engagement and dialog, not just rely on emails or complaints.
The school system relies on a common respect and partnership between all aspects of the district's staff. This is best built and maintained by having open dialog, communicating effectively, and understanding that though we all may be very diverse in our viewpoints, we have the same objective: to do our best for the children of our district.
