Brian Lamkin is the current South Carolina Inspector General. He was appointed to the position by Gov. Henry McMaster (R) in April 2017. He served as interim director after former officeholder Patrick Maley left office in February 2017.[1]

Lamkin began working at the South Carolina Office of Inspector General in 2013. Lamkin served in the FBI for more than 25 years, including positions such as assistant director in Virginia, special agent in charge in Atlanta and Columbia, and chief of financial crimes in Washington, D.C.[2]
